Raul Malo Xmas Show 2007

Tuesday Will and I met up with Natalie, Dave, Tim, and Brian at the Birchmere to see the Raul Malo show. His performance was a lot jazzier than before with a trumpet player taking the place of a guitarist and lots of traded solos between him and the pianist. I wouldn't rank it quite as good as last years, but still, the man has one hell of a voice and is quite funny once he warms up to the audience.
I think everyone enjoyed the show although Dave got there real late as he had a rehearsal of his own to attend. Perhaps inspired by the odd glowing palm trees on stage, we all went to Freddie's for a drink or two afterwards.
Also, as I was driving home yesterday Fresh Air had a review of his christmas album.
