Julie Clark
10/4/2007
It's always great to come across an old friend on the internet you haven't had any contact with in years. Julie Clark was one of the girls living next door to me when I was but a scrawny and scruffy lad attending college. She sang and played guitar in several of the small clubs around campus doing mostly covers. A large girl with a warm personality, she seemed to be friends with everyone. Julie could walk from one side of the campus to the other and would be greeted with waves and smiles for the entire trip.
When I left Norfolk I never saw her again until my guitarist Jay mentioned that she was had played the Baltimore Pride Festival my band was supposed to also play. Wow! What a coincidence. Looking her up online I see she's now got her an album out with all original material, has also come out as gay, and has slimed down quite a bit. She always had a great voice and I'm glad to see it a plying over a collection of worthy material. I've exchanged a few e-mail messages with her and hope we can catch back up in person some day soon.
