39 Times Around the Sun

It's my birthday and I'm feeling fine. Got a great night sleep last night, have a lunch planned with my mom this afternoon, and a big show with the band tonight. Add in the endless planning for the big Burning Man trip I undertake in less than two weeks and it's going to be a busy day.
I have to admit that I was dreading this birthday just a tad. Not for the aging thing but rather the whole "no, I'm 39, no really, for the first time!" There are so many "39-year-olds" online it's perhaps the most tired of cliches. It brings to mind the old literary quotation:
She was a handsome woman of 39 and would remain so for many years...
Therefore I think I'm just going to skip right over to 42. That's a good age and I rather like the sound of it. No one lies about being 42.
