9/19/2005 - Songwriting In Florida
I'm back down in Captiva Florida for a couple of weeks. Just me, my dog, and plans to finish up a bunch of songs for the second album. It's been a while since I've taken off on my own for a long road trip and it feels great. As much as I love my husband, there's something very sweet about solitude on the road.
The drive down here was long and lesiurely. No fuss, no rush, just tracing the big, black snake of a highway for about 18 hours. This is the first time I've ever taken Pronto on an extended road trip and he's turned out to be a great travel companion -- surprisingly low maintenance.
As it's the off season here, the place is dead. Hardly anyone around to enjoy sunrises like the one below. The workmen are doing some repairs on the building which is kind of annoying, but other than that, I've got no complaints.
