I was listening to Lynne Cheney (wife of Vice President Dick Cheney) being interviewed by Terry Gross on the show Fresh Air. Mrs. Cheny's refusal to take any reasonable stance on gay marriage or defend her lesbian daughter's lifestyle brought to mind the above quotation. Just where are all the level-headed mainstream conservatives who favor gay marriage? They all seem to hide behind phrases like "government non-interference" and "State's rights". Where are all the conservative who will stand up and say "I do favor gay marriage and feel the legislature is the most appropriate way to bring it into our society -- the sooner the better".
