7/20/2004 - Three Weeks Away
Just three weeks now till I take another big break from work. Practicing hard every day so I'll be able make the most of it.
Over the weekend Jay and I succeeded in getting all the bass traps up in the studio. Wiring the bulky 2x4 panels into the corners of the celling was, quite literally, a pain in the neck. The sonic improvement they made was well worth the effort.
Saturday night Chad and Mike came over and we watched the original Manchurian Candidate. Good flick. It's paced a great deal slower than films made today. Things are implied instead of crassly stated, and that old black and white noir style is great to look at. I'll have to go see the upcoming remake to see how it measures up.
Oh, I'm so ready for a break. I want to spend some time getting back into shape. Stalk the night and sleep in late. Reconnect with some quiet, creative times, and spend no time whatsoever in a cubicle. I want to go biking and take a long lunch with my parents.
I hope I can squeeze some of that in while working on the album.
