3/21/2004 - Cinnamon Bay - Day 1, part 2

In case you missed it, see parts: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5

"The vegetation isn't quite what I expected." - Fitz
"Its tropical, not jungle. In fact, the big palms are all imported" - Mike

After the ruins we finally made it down to the beach. It's a places so picture-perfect that aiming a camera anywhere will usually give good results. White sands, blue iridescent water and lush vegetation. It's not a good beach for shelling, as you only get a few small ones here and there, but that also means there's little to get underfoot when walking around. Every day of our stay we swam out here at least once, and it was always warm and enjoyable.

On one of the paths to the beach I noticed this huge keg-sized termite nest. We would see many more elsewhere on the island. I was also lucky enough to come across this 5-foot iguana one day while headed to the surf.
