Web Logs
1/21/2004 - Website Revamp
I finally got around to doing a redesign of the site here. It's taken me long enough, but I've been very busy with music and the like. So here it is: an actual design for a Web designer's site.
Highlight:
- Conversion to full CSS layout with tables only being used for image galleries (including cool CSS drop shadows that Safari users can see).
- Improved 508 compliance.
- Simplified directory structure.
- Fixing 90 percent of the broken links.
- Revising much of the outdated content.
There's still a bunch of work to be done to get it right, but I'll get to that in a more incremental fashion. And thanks to Blue Robot and A List Apart for the use of their templates for so many months.
Still On the To Do list:
- Move many of the journal entries into the Weblog.
- Fix the level 2 header (not quite happy with that one yet).
- Revise many of the links.
- Look into the possibility of using MovableType to power the Weblog.
- Add a favicon
- Do something interesting with the home page image.
- Add a colophon.
- Add CSS drop down menus.
