Pumpkin Party 2003
10/27/2003

Every year the approach of halloween portends my involvement in numerous unnatural rituals and unsavory acts - like moping, dusting, and the removal of soap scum.

These unspeakable rites, so contrary to my dorm-room-living ethics, have become a nessisary and unavoidable evil in preparation for our annual Pumpkin Carving Parties.

And so here I stand, the day after, surveying the living room. My red-rimmed and bleary eyes taking in the remains of what was a lively and enjoyable event. Candy wrappers litter the once pristine floors. Plastic cups clutter the once immaculate counter tops. The neatly arraigned furniture is now scooted into a state of disarray; and a fine coating of footprints and grime coat our home once more.

Ah... What a relief. Now the place feels livable again!

A big thanks to all the guest that showed up bearing tasty treats, fine wines, and eminently enjoyable company. The weather was great, the costumes excellent, and both Will and I had a great time. And as soon as our hangovers wear off, I'm sure we'll be looking forward to doing it again next year...
