8/13/2003 - A Thousand Somedays
Had a fine birthday yesterday. A little music, a little martial arts and a whole lotta eating. The overindulgence began with a lunch provided by Mom and Dad, gained momentum with Swedish Fish given by will and blasted thru the caloric roof with a bunch of friends at Generous George's Positive Pizza Place for dinner. Big thanks to all those who attended the dinner (Chris, Dave, Mike, Scott, Mike, and of course, Jimbo). It was greatly appreciated and a lot of fun.
I chose George's because it holds some way-back memories for me. In 1983 Barry Crenshaw was the first of my friends to get a much-coveted drivers licence. To christen this stride into the adult world he grabbed myself and another friend, Patrick, and drove us to George's for lunch. I vividly remember the warmth of that sunny day, the heckling Patrick and I heaped upon Barry, and that Men at Work were asking "Who Can It Be Now?" on the radio. To think that was all twenty years ago. Hmm...
And a thousand somedays just drift on right by...
