Canine Courageous

CNN has pictures of the heroic hound.
That dog's a hero! Rescued after being stranded for 24 days aboard a doomed tanker. I tell you it deserves a medal!
Will is less convinced. He keeps asking me what exactly the dog did to deserve being called a hero. He points out that it didn't save anyone's life and was pretty incapable of saving itself when the need arose. Why, he demands, would anyone call it a hero?
To all his questions and doubts, my answer remains the same:
THAT DOG'S A HERO!
Apparently CNN agrees.
