1/23/2002 - Mother Of All Domes
Thanks Paul for sending me a link to the ULTIMATE DOME SITE. Located in the U.K., its called the Eden Project, and is a series of vast, futuristic greenhouses.
They were created by Tim Smit (who incidentally used to produce Barry Manilow albums), and bear and uncanny resemblance to the domed city in one of my favorite films: Logan's Run.
The official Website (a Flash enabled, JavaScript laden, quagmire designed to impress corporate investors but not provide any real information) is here. An Unoffical Website, here, is far better. It actually has content that's easy to get to and worth seeing. Wired also has an excellent article here.
OK Shanner - looks like I'll be planning a trip to your neck of the woods here before too long..
