5/25/2001 - Happy Birthday Will
Your presents are wrapped and waiting for your return. Couldn't get the dancing boy, hope that's OK.
(Later still)
Mediocre crowd tonight. Kind of thin ( and not in the good waistline sort of way ). The holiday and rain must have chased everyone off. Its funny how hard I worked to forge friendships in the last five years, and how few have endured. People get married, lovers become estranged, and everyone is just so damn busy. I look thru the crowd here and see a number of guys that would probably be fun to hang out with. Sexy, smart guys. They type you could take on hiking and museum trips for a few months, and finally end up getting naked with after you've grown to know them. Guys that would make great friends.
But I just don't have it in me tonight. The time. The effort.
Making good friends is like mining for diamonds: lots of work with precious few returns.
So instead I've sat around talking to Mark , Byron , Ted and a few of the other bartenders. Its good to have some constants in life.
